I've just returned from a week at the beach with my wife Babs, our daughter Jenny, her husband Jake and our adorable granddaughter Zoe. It was good to have them all together and Babs loves her time with Zoe! I finished one painting recently that I have started and discarded several times. It is based on a picture I took several years ago on one glorious fall day of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis North Carolina. I have to mat and frame it, along with several others, and hope to finish it in the next several weeks. I need to get a better picture for my web site, but thought you might enjoy seeing the finished painting. The weather forecast was dreadful while we were at the beach, calling for thunderstorms the entire week. Thankfully, the forecasters were wrong and we had great weather while the surrounding areas experienced strong storms and lots of rain. We did see some truly majestic large clouds and I took some time to do one little painting while I was staying out of the sun. It was fun and I think I will try a larger version in the future. Now that it is cooling down, I need to get back in the workshop, build some frames and I owe Jenny and Zoe a couple of "cloud" bookshelves.
